Carl Marsh opened Marsh Garage on May 5, 1958 at 1368 S. Belmont Av. on the premise that people appreciate quality service at a fair price, provided by people that care. That premise still holds true today.
When Carl (right) opened, his father Henry
(center), who had been a mechanic since he was a teenager, began working with
him. Shortly after he opened he hired Larry Teipen (left), with whom he had
worked for many years. Both Henry and Larry continued working at the garage
until they retired.
In 1970 the garage building across
Carl retired in
1988 and the day to day operation was turned over to his son Curt, who has been
working there full time since 1973. Carl returned to repairing vehicles in 1995
and continued to work until June of 1997.
In March of 2008
the operation was consolidated into the original building at 1368 S. Belmont
Av.
